I had a friend KK Mclure about 10 yrs ago w/ double vision. I didnt get into what he did to solve the problem...but for a long time he flew the plane in front. Both planes still hit the ground occasionally though.

He would put on a good show with a Top Dog (Dawg?), rudder and elevator only plane.

On a serious note, I don't know if cataracts or astigmatism cause
multiple images, but, before surgery, if I put a small black ink dot on
a piece of paper and looked at it with only my left eye, I saw four
dots. One was distinct and dark black, the remainder were fuzzy and
gray. When I did the same with my right eye, I saw two dots. One was
distinct and dark black, the other was fuzzy and gray. When I opened
both eyes, I saw three dots. One was distinct and dark black, the
other two were fuzzy and gray. When I looked at a white center pole at
the flying field, I saw a distinct, white pole and two fuzzy white
poles on either side. My airplanes had fuzzy wings. Cataract surgery
cured all that.
