SS Main bearing for OS 1.40 RX

There are three types of stainless steel: ferritic (like what they use for mufflers and pipes, it is magnetic and weldable), austenitic (non-magnetic and very corrosion resistant, good high temp properties, but generally not very strong) and martensitic stainless (which is magnetic and can be very strong and fairly corrosion resistant). I'll bet stainless bearings are the latter.

Usually SS does not get attracted my magnets. There is one type of SS that is attracted by magnets but I don't think is use in this application since is very expensive. I have one at home. I will check tonight and let you know.

Thats the one you want for the RX Ed. Can't tell you for sure if it's stainless but I'm on my second year with mine who knows how many flights.at least a couple of hundred including a long winter.

I would just like to confirm whether the main bearing replacement that Tower sells for the OS 1.40 EFI is actually stainless steel. This is the sealed bearing.

      Thanks
