Adjustable everything

Guys,
 I'm putting together an Asian ARF for a review. It has adjustable incidence
in both stab halves and both wings. The rudder hinge line looks to be swept
back a little, and it looks like it has some down thrust too. What is the
best way to start aligning it? On stuff that has only adjustable wings, I
start with the stab. Set the meter to 0, then check everything relative to
that. Since there are no plans with these ARFs (fuselage datum), what else
can I do? It would be nice if there were reference marks on the fuse
somewhere. To make it worse, the instructions don't say where to start. I
figured I'd go for about +.5 on the wings since I like things nose heavy for
the first flights.  TIA for any advice.
