3 blade prop

I had the oportunity to try 3 diferent props back to back at the Nedeland
contest on Sat night.

1.17x12 reg 2 blade APC
2. 16x11 GSW(Clevland) 3 blade c.f.
3  15.75x11 3blade APC that was a Dave Lockhart re-pitch.

My observations

17x12 best overall for penetration and power in the verticals but the faster
of the three on the downline.
16x11  good overall speed but lacks in the vertical in pulling or pushing
the model into a vertical, slowed down more then the 17x12
15.75x11 good speed management and when pulling through looping segmments
seemed to have much more authority.  It felt as if I took out some of the
expo in my elevator on the pulls. When slowing down for the spin entry it
was like putting on the brakes I had to carry a touch more power to the spin
entry.

For windy conditions the 2 blade and for calmer conditions the Lockhart 3
blade seem to be the two best suited for my OS on my wide body
airplane(Aries).
On my Entropy, a faster design less drag, the GSW 16x11 works fine.

Thanks to Brian Hebert for letting me try his Lockhart prop as it gave me an
opportunity to see the true difference in prop selection side by side.
As Brian pointed out to me every airplane has its one prop that seems to
match its speed and performance envelope.  So what works for me may not work
for you or your friends.
