Steve, thanks, but I am *no* expert. MUCH I have learned from others who have shared what they know, and I add my piece to that mix. What I have found, without exception, is that the current crop of 1.60's, 1.70's, both 2 and 4 stroke, are COMPLETELY capable of hauling 5kg models in FAI with three blade setups. Period.
The choices are pretty subtle, and not real obvious unless you're willing to try "weird stuff"....like the Master Airscrew 16 x 10. Proving to be a great choice. So is the "GRS" (looks like a Mejzlik) 16 x 11, and the Mejlik itself. Then, of course, the APC's, but Fred refuses to retool and reduce the 13 pitch three blade (Completely understable considering the "fickleness" of US). Lockharts' repitching works VERY well, and I've had the 10, 11, and 12 pitch. All work very well on the OS 1.60 piped.
We need a Webra expert who had experimented to chime in here, and they're probably contesting today.... but I've had the Webra 1.45, and the only three blade that *IT* would turn well was the Bolly 16.5 x 10 !!! And that was un-piped on a Bolly MF 590 R muffler. With a TP, it would probably do okay on the Bolly 16.5 x 12, but those props are lighter motor-loaders than the APC and Mejzlik.
SO far, the MA has the lightest load, most effective braking, and best overall speed/accelleration.... but then again, it probably is not a good enough prop for us to use consistently.

If I had a Webra on a Pipe with ground clearance issues, I'd get the MA 16 x 10 three blade in a heartbeat. $18.95 delivered to your do from Windsor propellor. If it *didn't work*, you can sell it to me....

With the ground clearance problem, you are probably need a 3 or 4 blade. Bob Pastorello is an expert.

Otherwise, the 1.45 wants to turn a 17x10 or 17x12. Any less diameter, and you would need the pitch so high, it would make the airplane too fast.

Need advice on prop for the 1.45 Webra. I have a definite ground clearance concern. A 17" just barely clears in a level attitude. TIA for any help.
