large brim hats?

Wally-world....straw, Fedora style, not a REAL wide brim, but better than the sun hat. Cheap.
Keep on head using a leather shoelace, around the crown/brim, through a couple holes, slider-tied under chin.

Cheap.
Looks TERRIBLE.
Not "pattern worthy".

But VERY effective at sun blocking.

I left out the part about how it blows off in the middle of the maneuver you fear the most so you're flying REALLY high in the middle of the round you really need because of the 25 mph quartering gusting cross wind. Ball cap is a useful backup for this situation. Use the hat when not flying.

Cracker Barrel occasionally has a large brimmed hat with mesh sides and a cloth crown in their gift shops. Cost is around $20.

  Hi All,

I'm often surprised at what comes out of this list, thus the off-beat question. Is there a favorite large-brim hat in use to block out the sun? I've been using a beach hat at times (brim slopes down around the circle, not a flat brim). I need a new one.

  Thanks,
  Jim
