I also think that some of us with cataracts have them due to being in the sun flying so much too, I have the symptoms you stated, not all but the fuzzy and foggy look..Be interested in knowing your outcome, and wish you the best! Things like discomfort that type of thing..something to prepare myself for! :-)) Good luck! Charlie

Subject: cataract up date and More

Without giving any of my competition an edge, if you have any doubts about
your vision think about cataracts, what they found from me was I defendant
had cataracts but also and I had never been told before I have astigmatism
in both eyes, even though in general cataracts are mainly age related, and
even one of the nurse said so, but not always true I feel that this has
been a problem with me for many years, in fact when I flew in the 80's
always thought that I didn't see as well as others, some of the symptoms
are as RVP said multiple vision in one or both eye
Cloudy, fuzzy, foggy, or filmy vision.
Glare from lamps or the sun, which may be severe.
Difficulty driving at night due to glare from headlights.
Frequent changes in eyeglass prescription.
Double vision.
Second sight.
Difficulty performing daily activities because of vision problems.
Why is he giving all this info you ask well I have ask about these
symptoms for years, first not that I can't see but could have been seeing
better for years now I know that technology has helped on this point but
even getting this done 5 years ago could have helped me as I'm only 56 it's
not like I'm as old as dirt (just some of the dust particles) so get this
checked I would have been happier if I had found this last winter, as my
pattern season is almost toast now should be able to fly at the last 2
contest, as the first time I can get in is the 19th but I do want to watch
the Nats so I'm going the 26th with 2 weeks for other eye, after that I
could need a glasses change for flying to get full benefit but won't need
for normal driving or other activities.
Sorry for being so long if it helps some else from missing out on good
site it will well be worth it.
