Question on Bearing change out

Michael, I don't know that it makes a difference. I've run closed rubber seals, metal shields, no shields on my OS 1.60's....SS... have never noticed any difference. I'd say do what's easy, on the main bearing.
Front bearings seem to always have a shield/seal on the front side.

Subject: Question on Bearing change out

  Hi all,
I have a question about replacing the bearings on my OS 91FX. I have the motor disassembled and the old bearings out. I have a new set of bearings, Stainless rear and standard front. I see on the factory rear bearing both seals are taken off to expose the race. On the front bearing the rear seal is taken off. Should I do this with my new bearings? Thanks for the help in advance

  Thanks
