Long Stroke vs. Short Stroke

Scott,
Simple. "long stroke" means the stroke of the piston is longer than the bore diameter. When an engine is called "square", the bore and stroke are equal. Generally speaking, long stroke engines are made to turn at slower rpms and produce more torque, but in reality there is a lot more to it than that. The porting probably has more to do with that than whether it is long-stroke or not.

Thanks in advance!
