Don:

Do you remember the set up that you used in the Focus I? I am flying a Focus I and looks like I am a little higher. I think the Focus II has larger control surfaces. If you remember the values for the Focus I, I would like to have it.

Thanks,

Vicente Bortone

Mike, here are some measurements- another data point for you.
Ailerons low rate 9 degrees up and down. Expo 19 percent. High rate ailerons 11 degrees up and down, expo 26 percent
Elevator low rate 8 degrees up and down, expo 25 percent. Elevator high rate 14 up and 13 down, expo 50 percent.
Rudder low rate 1 inch (measured from the top of the rudder) with 44 percent expo. Rudder high rate 1 3/8 inch, 70 percent expo.
Normal flight is low rate, stall turns, snaps and spins on high rate.
Good Luck,
Don

Mike,
Please tell us what airplane you have, and maybe someone on the list will have trimmed an example of the design to the point where he has recommendations.

Dean

I am setting up my plane - can anyone tell me what would be the best recommended throws for ailerons and elevator for the 1st flight? Also, the plans suggest a 1/2 degree positive in wing and a 1/4 degree negative in the stabilizer - should I leave this setting or should I zero wing out for the 1st flight? CG will be as per plans. I can put dual rates in, but still need a basis to start with.
Thanks,
Mike Pascale
