Sir,
Even some of us who were only old enough to see Vietnam on the six o'clock news thought you guys got a bad rap on your return. I'm embarrassed that our country treated you guys that way. Thanks to you veterans of Vietnam, all servicemen have received a better homecoming. Thank you!

And just yesterday while waiting in grocery line a lady saw my cap and said she had to come up and thank me. First time that has happened to me since getting out in '72. Was a decent experience and glad those are now in the majority from what I hear. The media can give us the bias of feeling ignored or spit on for serving. Very nice to see the welcome change. Proud to have served and would be glad to serve again if they would take me.
    Happy vets day all...

I wanted to say "Thank You" for all of the sentiments for those who serve or have served. I find it very heart warming when people of this great country express their gratitude for those who server their country. I've served in the Air Force for the last 16 years and have always felt it was a way of life, not just a "job" or "adventure". I usually shy away from the compliment because I've always felt it is a way of life for me and therefore, one that doesn't need to be thanked. I know that is not true, but for me being in the military, it is natural, so no acknowledgement is needed. However, it does make my day when people do acknowledge what we stand for. Not metaphorically, but there on the front line. Thank You.
