Mike,
I understand fully. I have a grandson that has been near death of and on
for years. He has more steel in him than the Biomechanical Man. I got
him to solo a few years back and that makes him very happy. I am
finishing a Goldberg TigerII 60 for him now. Keep the faith, Tom

Tom, I sincerely apologize for snapping last night. My apology goes out
to all but one person, the same person that has been sniping at me for 2
years. And until last night, I think most everyone would agree that I
used almost divine restraint.
But I have my limits. He hit my button, and I went off. For not
controlling my temper, I apologize.
Let me give you some insight as to why though. Maybe I shouldn't, but
almost none of you even know this.
My son is 4 years old. He was born with multiple abnormalities. The wife
got pregnant with him at the same time I got lupus and lost everything I
owned. And I do mean everything.
Yesterday afternoon, he came home from his 14th surgery. He still eats
through a feeding tube, he breathes through a trach, is on oxygen 24/7.
Yesterday they widened his ear canal and did a skin graft on his arm. He
can't talk, and you can imagine what the little guy was doing. As a
father, it's pretty hard to keep your stuff straight when you have to
watch your son go through that, and you have a potentially deadly
genetic disorder on top of it. And I think I've done well, I don't think
hardly anyone in D3 even knew I had a son. I normally try to keep my own
problems to myself, but since I probably just ruined what was left of my
reputation, I thought maybe I'd explain why my fuse is so short right
now.
This particular guy has been sniping at me for 2 years, and when he
repeated his stupidity yesterday, I just went off. I'm sorry, but I'm
human. I normally eat stress for breakfast, but that was more than I'm
willing to ignore.
It's not hard to remember right now why I sold all of my stuff and quit
flying. A year ago I almost died, for christ's sake. Right now I'm
wondering why I just dropped a couple thousand dollars to get back into
it. But there are enough good people out there in this group that they
DO outweigh the jack asses.
So in the future, I will TRY to keep my cool. No garauntees though if I
get attacked and I don't feel I deserved it whatsoever. Now, 2 years ago
I served as the voice of caution concerning this new technology because
nobody else would. Now that Cameron has spoken up, I'm done. I've taken
enough crap over this subject. But if someone new asks a questions and I
don't feel they are being given ALL of the answers, then I'm likely to
warn them to be careful. If that bothers some of you, TOUGH.
I'm done with this crap, I have a new 2 meter that needs paint.
-Mike
