Had a CLOSE call with my Prophecy. I had just transferred the plane over to a new frequency and was trimming the plane out on a different transmitter. I brought the plane up high and stalled it onto a spin as I throttled up and pulled out we heard a loud crack like a 22 rifle. At first we didnt know what it was but as the plane level out you could see the right stab was gone. Surprisingly enough I immediately leveled the plane out, and landed just like nothing was wrong. I was surprised that the plane handled so well with only 1 stab and the elevator flopping behind the plane. I overshot the runway and had to use spoilers to land it but it came down smooth as silk. This is my 1st pattern plane, REALLY glad it came down in 1,,, well 2 pieces. We recovered the stab and Buddy B. looked it over and gave me some pointers on the repair. I cut 4 carbon fiber tubes, 2- 3/8" and 2- 1/4" tubes, drilled the holes, lined it up and glued it all back. Feels a lot more rigid than it did before.
Think I dodged a bullet, and once again my buddy Buddy provided some excellent advice. A little fiberglass and some Monokote and it should be better than before.
