Scaling up

Please excuse the partially off topic subject, but I'm looking for a little
input.  I'm looking to scale up a project by 50% (all wood) does anyone have
any general pointers, i.e.  Do I use 50% wider ribs, or is this not always
required?

What are the forces on ribs?  Is there much of a crushing force or is it
mainly in the fore and aft direction.
