Another approach might be to bypass the source of the trouble spot entirely. 
One could use the Topper tank arrangement that has been discussed many times 
before for sport engines, and bypass the pump entirely. The standard TN carb on 
the webra responds pretty well to that arrangement. 

I have done that on the bench and was really tempted to do it at the Peach 
contest last weekend, when my trusty webra went south for a couple rounds. It 
turned out it was not the pump, eventhough I have had trouble this year with the 
previous pump. It was a bad plug.
