Creative Nose Ring Mounting?

Wayne, I enjoy Bob's inventions and I thought about that when I posted. But then again I'd worry about the ease of operation and strength on a Rube Goldberg setup. I'm running a DZ and the vibrations are tough on any mount. I really prefer a solid stucture up front and because of that I limit my choices to FG fuses. Also I know that Merle doesn't think a nose ring should be used if your running his A mounts. So again this is viable for a cowled fuse. Thanks, Mike

You gotta understand how Bobs mind works. He is what we would call the McGiver of the model business. and this can be done as I have done it on a Cap I had put a 2 stroke in. If there is room it can be done with 4 longerons and shear webbing to a nose ring mount. E-mail me off list for a photo.

Bob wouldn't itbe easier to obtain an Hyde ARI mount? Yes it's expensive but if it works it's worth it in my opinion. Mike

The tubing essentially formed the four legs of chair, extending forward and coming together into a seat. The seat of the chair formed the nose ring. The nose ring was made from rubber sheet. Worked well enough but wasn't easily removable.

Eventually I opted to remove all that and mount the cowling permanently instead. I opted for a hatch on the bottom of the cowling for engine access and that assembly worked better and was lighter. Good l,uck Bob

Hoping there's someone out here with a creative solution to a pesky problem.... on my own rotational mount, with the OS 1.60, I think I need to install a nose ring....Arresti is a "cowling" nose, so can't go there....don't want to replace cowling with built up wooden assy.
Any ideas for making some kind of tripod/post affair that would attach to the firewall ( I have area of firewall around the mount that is accessible on all sides) to mount the nose ring to???

Any ideas or solutions would be much appreciated!
