PL Prod Lazulite CG

Jim, the 20mm behind the axis of the key is correct.

And that makes sense. The newer Smaragd kits had the wing tube moved in the foam wing...back about 20mm and the original CG setup on that wing was 40-45mm behind the wing tube center. So you are in the same range.

My current Smaragd is about 30-35mm behind the center of the tube on the older wing tube location...so on the new wing tube location I'm at 15mm behind tube center.....This is the same spot physically on the wing.

  Subject: PL Prod Lazulite CG

  Hi All,

If someone knows the CG location of the PL Prod Lazulite, I would like to know it. I tried to use a translator to decipher the instruction set. However, if I'm correct, the French word for "wing-tube" (Cle') is translated to English as "Key." Thus, the CG would be 20 mm aft of the "Axis of the Key." The other CG reference seems to be from the wing Leading Edge as 190 MM. However, the translation is "behind attack edge." Either way, the 20 mm behind the center of the wing tube, or 190 from the LE of the wing seam to be close (due to sanding, they do differ a little with the 20 mm measurement resulting in a slightly more aft CG location.).

Of course, a simple diagram with any of these numbers would have solved the problem. However, the only reference to "centre de gravite" is on a picture (taken from an angle) showing the stab/wing aligned with masking tape from the stab tips to the wing tips. There are no "CG" mark locations on any of the photos. *Note: "centre de gravite" translates directly to "center of seriousness."

  Thanks!!

  Jim W.
