Interesting, I believe Ayrton Senna took up flying while competing in the
Australian F1 in Adelaide at the time,....Mark Webber ( currently at Jaguar
F1) started to fly at my club field while he was a Renault F1 test driver,
he too was very impressed with our pattern planes, but now that he is a
superstar, I don't expect him back anytime too soon!!
Heinz-Harald Frentzen ( Sauber, Williams,Jordan , Arrows) also flys model
aircraft...now that he is 'retired' from F1...maybe he will have some
available time to do a bit of flying, and maybe even a bit of F3A.
There were some other F1 pilots that flew RC as well..cant think of them
right now though.

Now deceased World Champion F1 driver Ayrton Senna became fanatical
about flying pattern planes after befriending Hanno Prettner.
However he didn't compete due to time constraints and also not
wanting to spend what little free time he had in the public eye.
Most of his flying was done between races at private fields with
Hanno.
This according to my good friend Stefan Fiink from Germany who met
Senna through his association with Prettner. According to Stefan,
Senna was a pretty decent model pilot. Not great but competent.

The only other notable celebrity flying pattern I can think of is our
own Dave Villwock of Miss Budweiser fame. But then we all know that
Dave's just a "regular guy", so maybe he doesn't count!
