Speaking of lessons learned (was are you looking for somethin g)

The level of granularity you get with electronic trims is the real benefit.
More than once with mechanical trim, one click was either too much or too
little. Most of the radios with electronic trims allow you to adjust the
amount of servo movement for each "beep". Once I have a plane dialed in I
turn this feature way down so that I use very small "steps" to make up for
weather conditions changing flight trim. I don't need to hear the "beep" to
know I'm using the trim function, that should be apparent from the flight
attitude of the plane. Another great feature is the ability to carry trim
settings into mixing functions or to not carry the trim into the mix. The
Futaba 7UAP I use on my flight simulator feels ancient with it's mechanical
trims.
