What kind of paint is on Focus II cowl?

Here's my 2 cents worth and keep in mind I'm no expert...
I have sprayed PPG Concept and this Nelson water based paint with the
crosslinker. I bought colors matched to the covering on my Focus. The original
finish on the cowl and the belly-pan did not hold up too well. They yellowed
from the sun and the finish on the cowl pealed back around the edges. I have a
lot of flights on the Focus so I can't complain.
The Nelson paint is not very glossy, at least not for me. I sprayed using a HVLP
DeVebiss gun. I found it a lot harder to paint than the PPG Concept paint. It
did hold up pretty well and I'm using it again to do a little more maintenance
on the Focus. Its real easy to work with, do smell, easy cleanup. I did not have
any trouble painting over the original focus finish. The biggest problem I had
was the belly-pan. The original finish is some kind of bass coat clear coat, at
least I think it is. The original paint did not adhere very well to the
belly-pan and I had to "flake" a bunch of it off. This was a huge job!
I'll stick with PPG Concept for by big projects, this paint is unbeatable!

This is really interesting stuff! I had no idea there was a paint system like
this available. It sounds almost to good to be true. How well does it really
hold up? Is it a good choice for painting over a TAVS fuselage? How does the
finished weight, gloss and color match to Monokote compare to PPG Concept paint?

Thanks
Ed
