Ed, With regards to the 5th of Jack that was on every table and the vat of
Lynchberg Lemonade that was at the picnic, I beleive I recall the guide
saying...And I shant forget the quote..."We're in a dry county here, so we
can't sell any alcohol...but that doesn't prevent us from giving it
away...."
It became very clear, very fast...why they had buses pick us all up, and
take us back home...lol

I too remember the Tullahoma NPAC! This was the best run large contest I
ever attended. (I attended several Nats, the last in 1978 along with a few
other contest along the way!) Mike had strict rules at Tullahoma and they
were enforced to the tee. This caused the event to operate in a spectacular
fashion. This was the first time I met Maureen and Mike Dunphy and my hats
still off to them and the other officials. What a grand time! We really
should do NPAC again!
This was my first year back in pattern after a seven year hiatus drag
racing. Dorothy was indeed the star of the barbecue! BTW, I may hold a
record with Dorothy as I received three tens in a row from her at the
seventy-eight Nats! She is still one of the best judges I ever had the
pleasure to fly for. (I seldom received tens, most times nothing close, but
she was fair to all no matter how long the day!)
Jack Daniel's Hollow is located in a dry county here in Tennessee, but due
to some political shenanigans or something of the sort, Someone, (I blame it
on Mike), Jack was allowed to attend this outing! Needless to say, a great
time was had by all! If you have the opportunity to tour Jack Daniel's
Hollow, do not take a deep whiff of the vat when the guide ask you to!
While reminiscing I would be remiss if I didn't say Ron Van Putte may not be
my inspiration but has been my idol and friend for more years than either of
us care to remember!
I wish the best for each of you during this season! Have a great next year
even if you don't want to!

Sounds like it was a blast. Wish I was there. Hey lets do it again and this
time I'll be there
