Actually Armando, there are certain aspects that apply now regardless -
painting techniques, construction techniques, trimming... all work now, just
like they did in the good old days (4-8 years ago).

I don't believe that printing old stuff would be as much of value that
asking the guys now to help out. For one tting, so many things are
different. there's almost nobody that builds with balsa now compared to the
past. Engines are alot different han in the 70's and 80's. Even trimming a
plane is different with the computer radios now.
maybe old stuff could be used is some small way, maybe a stepping stone,
but Pattern is so muc different that before. Just my 2 cents

Why not reprint articles from the past? I remember reading superb articles
on painting in the 80s and 90s that any newcomer would find extremely
valuable. I would now, also. There were dozens of great articles on setup,
wing sheeting, trimming, how to's on maneuvers, etc. Tons of great articles
by many talented members that have since moved on.

I think paying for articles is definitely an option however I would hope
that pattern pilots would do it because they want to do it... I can fully
understand if we were a "for profit" company and we were dependant on
quality articles then payment would definitely be in line. As to using the
K-Factor to grow pattern - absolutely! However it needs to be attractive as
a magazine to attract new pilots - articles like I mentioned below are what
I feel will attract people.
