Adjustable stab weight

Lance,
I was like you, initially I didn't like the look of the small tabs on the
bottom of the stab when the plane was turned over but I quickly got over
that when I weighed the more common adjustable stab setups and seen some of
the problems folks had with them. The tabs are back away from the leading
edge of the stab so they are not visible when the plane is upright. The EMC2
is a difficult plane to keep under 11 pounds, a few changes this winter and
mine will go from 10 pounds 11 ounces down to 10 pounds 9 ounces and I have
never heard or seen anyone build one that light that was durable and still
had wheel pants on it. My switch harness and tank are too heavy and I have
lighter, just as durable items going in. I have 2 more EMC kits, one will be
a twin to the one I have now and the other will become a bipe with an OS 160
or ???. Yes it is a 7 year old design but it flies better than I ever will
and I like the looks of it.
Ed M.
