OS 160FX setup

On the ST2300 if you use the Perry pump you also need to use the Perry carb. I have one now that I am still running and once its set I had to barely make any adjustments over the whole season. Putting it in a Funtana 90 right now...should be a blast!!

Art Waggner flies FAI and uses the OS 1.60 quite successfully with no pump. He runs the tank behind the firewall and uses a bladder tank and runs muffler pressure.

The instructions on the website are pretty clear. I've seen one run on an OS 1.6 all summer, and it was flown very hard. It was flown in a 24% Extra 300 and I have put it through its paces numerous times, and never had an issue with it. We ran Cool Power 15% through it, and I don't remember ever having to touch a needle. I saw Bob is no longer recommending this, and he has a lot of runs on his OS 1.6 with the Perry pump, however I ran that Perry pump on a Super Tiger 2300 and could not get it to run consistently at all, so I guess its all a matter of personal preference, just like anything else we do.the only thing you would ever need to replace would be the diaphragm, which they will replace for free.

So any tips on how to set up an Iron Bay Regulator? How many flights beofre you need to replace one?

Another option is the Regulator from Iron Bay Models. This thing is VERY light, and works great. Saw Bob Pastorello mentioned it on his site as well. Uses crankcase pressure to pressurize the tank. Gives it sort of a YS feel..you have to burp your engine after you fly, but these things work great.

So now that the OS160FX has arrived, I need to figure out how to set it up for my Focus. Seems to be two options, (1) a perry v30 or (2) a header tank. So would one choice be better than the other for the advanced sequence?

Where do you get the muffler pressure if you are running a header tank?
