OS 1.60 in a Temptation

Ed,

I have a Temptation built and I'm finishing it now. I have the 1.60FX in mine. I
ran this combo in a Focus for about 30 gallons of fuel and I have been very
happy. The cut out was mostly in the belly pan and only a small part in the
fuse. I did not feel it weakened the fuse at all. I thought about the rotation
idea but I was not sure of any downsides to this idea.
I used a hyde mount and home made nose ring. Hope to have it ready to fly in a
month or so. I have a second Temptation kit I picked up when the price went
down, I plan on setting it up with a 1.60 as well. The price on the 1.60 is hard
to beat!
Eric Henderson sent me a bunch of pics of his 1.60 install and I could send them
to you if you like. Just let me know.
I used a ES carbon fiber pipe and a header from Karl Mueller. I highly recommend
his headers, he does very nice work.

Subject: OS 1.60 in a Temptation

I'm wrestling with a decision of the OS 1.40 or 1.60 going into a pair of
Temptations. I was playing around with the fit of the 1.60 tonight and it looks
like it could all fit without a side cutout for the wrap around header, with
maybe a 15 degree rotation of the engine to squeeze it all in. The 1.40 would
no doubt be easier (if I could ever get my hands on one or two).

I don't really mind making the cutout if I have to, but it looks like it would
require cutting into a section that would be critical to keeping the nose stiff
for the nose ring. I could patch it up around it... Decisions, decisions.

Anyone ever make this combo work before? How did it all go together? Any pics
available?
Thanks
Ed
