Jim,
If the carbon shell is still intact clean it with thinner and rub JBWeld
into the holes. You can also cover that immediate area with 4oz glass cloth
saturated with JBWeld to be sure. Ed would sell more pipes if he would
reinforce the first 1/2in or so of the stinger and also lengthen the stinger
about 1.5 in. and then let the buyer determine the length.        Regards
