I can't comment on experiments of a larger twin electric motor scale
airplane, other than to mention a common problem that I've witnessed
with brushless motors used on twin motor aircraft. The current
controllers I've had experience with cannot handle twin brushless
motors over the whole motor RPM range. However, a local R/C electronic
designer (he designed many of the circuits sold by Radio South) was
called upon by a local modeler who had this problem. The electronic
designer has produced a circuit which will permit control of twin
brushless motors over the whole motor RPM range using currently
available electronic speed controllers. The 'brassboard' circuit works
extremely so well that the circuit is being considered as a potential
product to be sold to the general public by the fabricator of all the
Radio South electronic products. He doesn't know what the market
demand for this product will be. I told him that the demand could be
very large.
Please comment on the level of interest in such a product. The
fabricator is reluctant to identify himself at this time due to the
potential flood of 'nuisance' e-mails this might generate. I will
forward any responses to him,.
