Sanding

The only down side I noticed is if you used any filler for repairing, or some glue got to the surface of the balsa, the sponge sander tends to sand the balsa more with each stroke leaving a ridge where the filler or glue might be.

  Yes, I use the fine grade for the final sanding (not really removing much)
  on most curved and compound balsa surfaces before applying Monocote.
  I also found these good for taking the glaze off of Fiberglass or Epoxy
  molded parts to prepare those for painting.
