I had a great time this weekend until the last flight of the contest. The best part was watching Dave Lockhart and Mike McConville duel it out for FAI and getting to judge them. It's a privilege to watch flyers with that skill level. This contest raised the bar for many of us. Whats also cool was how down to earth and personable both of these guys are. I think Mike truly enjoyed the experience and we could really use his presence. He might even get a few IMAC guys to try pattern as a crossover event.
Mark,Bob and all the rest of the gang put on a 1st rate event. Thanks, Mike Mueller
PS: I had to tell the 2 Leo's that the loops contest protest was denied and they were really upset about it. We will try harder next year.

I'd like to add my thanks to Bob Pannell, Mark Atwood, the Comair club, and all
the helpers recruited by Bob and Mark. A very well run contest at a great
facility with great food and very entertaining extracurriculars. Arriving home
after midnight wasn't fun, but it was worth it. If you have the time in 2004,
a highly recommended event.

It was good to catch up with many of the D4 and D5 flyers and see some faces
from the past (Mike M and Geoff C). I suspect Mike might win FAI next year if
he gets in another dozen flights before then (pretty awesome flying for 1st
pattern event in 7 years).
