Subject: Fwd: SCCMAS contest Morgan Hill Ca Nov 1&2
Hi Guys
Well, I tried, I've extended the response deadline twice and I still have only 13 responses and two of those are tentative and one of them is me. Like I said in the earlier posts, this is a busy field with 400 members and although the club supports organized contests like this I cannot, in good conscience, close the field for the weekend for this small a group. So, although I hate to do it consider the pattern contest Nov 1 & 2 canceled, we'll try again next year.
Mike, Brian please put a not out to the club membership that the field will be open that weekend and thanks for your support, maybe next year.
Steve Klaus, please put this out to your list, again we'll try next year.

Hi Guys
OK, the deadline (Wednesday Sept 3) has come and gone and I have only 12 responses (and that's counting myself). I really don't want to cancel this so I'm going to assume that you guys really want a contest and have just not responded!! I'm going to extend the deadline for response to Wednesday 9 Sept. Hope to hear from you, if not, I tried.
Thanks

Hi guys, It's Sunday, 3 days to go, and I still have only 11 responses so not looking good. If you guys want a contest you need to respond so I know.. If you are sitting back and thinking everyone else will respond so I don't have to commit, it aint happening. I really hate to see the contest canceled, but I can't shut the field down for 11 guys. If you respond I will hold it (as compared to if you build it/hold it they will come)
Thanks
Bob
Hi guys, we are at 10 and counting, need 24 or more to hold this.
Hi guys
The Morgan Hill contest date is coming up (Nov 1 &2). This is a great field, big pit, big runway, etc Now for the bad news, we still have the over flight problem on the left box. The reality is that if you are in the box you are golden, but if you push out of the box you will be over the RED zone to the left. This is a situation that, as CD, I have no control over and I will enforce the left box ruthlessly.
That said I'm convinced we can hold the contest and have a rippin' good time, we held the district championships there, last year, under the same "over flight conditions" and there was no issue with the box/overflight, no complaints, so it can and has worked. So here's the deal, those of you who are planning to attend need to contact me, ASAP, if I get 24 or more potential attendees I will hold the contest, as planned. I need to make a decision by Wednesday, 3 Sept. I'm looking forward to the contest, but this is a busy field, with 400 members so I don't want to shut it down for a low turn out, so put it on your calendar and let's go fly some airplanes :-)
