NSRCA membership application in Model Aviation!

It was great to see someone finally made the decision and got funding to add our membership form to Model Aviation. Many organizations have members that never participate or compete but just want to belong, get a newsletter and a
membership card. Not all of our members have to be gotten directly from the
flying field either. Getting the NSRCA application blank out to as many
magazines as we can afford too is just another way to recruit members that may
never see someone flying pattern. You have to admit our planes are cool!

I would suggest something however, we should be tracking how new members sign
up. The form for the magazines may be slightly different, like a magazine
reference on the blank. Why? Well it will help to figure out how well our
advertising dollars are spent and which magazines hit our market best. I have
worked the Toledo show for the past few years and a membership blank should be
normal fodder for the table. We have always relied on old K-factors which may be out of date for membership rates and sometimes have information on the backside that the individual may want to keep.

I would suggest anyone doing a trade show have separate membership blanks made.
We can tell them if they want to join later to go to the web, but if they have
something in their hand studies show they are 28% more likely to join. I also
think the hat give away for a new member sign-up at an event is a great idea.
