Good experienced hands that have done pattern planes before, can build light and straight will take about 80 hours on the low end. At $10/hr that's $800. I've paid more and charged less. That's a low end starting point.
Hope I'm not inducing a case of the cringes on anyone but I hadn't seen any other responses and wanted to get this started.

Subject: what is fair price-build job?

  Guys,
I am going to give pattern a try this 2004 season and am buying a rtf plane from a fairly local fai pilot. In order to have a back up plane i have a guy who was going to build me a 40% bird for IMAC but now i think i'm going to have him build me a new pattern ship. What is a fair price for building one of these?
basicly it's a RTF job minus the radio install. ( all parts/paint not included in job price of course)
Please give me a range of what you've seen ( high to low)
  thanks for your help!
  Regards,
