Health of Pattern...D3

I don't think it's the airplanes...it's the PEOPLE...who work very hard
promoting and directing the contests as well as those who attend and support
the contests financially.

I have seen very few French airplanes here is D3. At the District
Champs...the thing that caught my eye as far as airplanes go is the
proliferation of ARC/ARF's like, Zen, Tai Jai, Quest, Focus, and even my
Phase One. Where you are most likely to see the French Connection <grin> is
in the upper classes where they seem to become affordable. So, I don't think
the success of D3 can be attributed to high end airplanes. If anything, it's
the low end airplanes that are helping.

In the end, I really thing success in having good contests is more to do
with great hard working people in the district.

Cheers,

Ken Blackwell

understand that there may be another FL contest before the end of the year.

some newer contests had as few as 14. It's a building process to get
attendance. Several of the bordering contests had good representation from
surrounding districts such as Sulphur (D3) with people from Texas (D6).
