How did you pay for the kit? If it was by credit card it is quite possible
the credit company will see your side (they care about you more than the
companies, oddly enough) and take your money back from the merchant (PL) if
the merchant doesn't do anything to remedy the situation. At least worth
phone your issuing bank.
That is, if you paid for it by credit card. Bank wire transfer and
everything is different.
