Webra - Horizon Hobby

I know that Lance had some frustration with Horizon due to lack of Webra
parts in stock, but I wanted to share my more positive experience. I
purchased a Webra 1.45 from Piedmont a while back as a backup motor but had
not needed to use it until recently. After 30 flights I heard a clattering
sound during one of my flights. I landed and it was clear that the bearings
were gone. I went home and disassembled the engine to change the bearings
and found that one of the bearings had disintegrated and metal fragments
were imbedded in the head, piston, crank case and the sleeve and ring were
seriously scratched.

Since the engine is so new I sent it to Horizon Hobby (because Piedmont no
longer carries the Webra). I explained what had occurred and that normally
I'd simply replace the bearings myself, but due to the extent of the damage
I wanted them to take a look at it. I let them know that I always use after
run oil and run my engines slightly rich.

Today I received a brand new Webra 1.45 in the mail, no charge.

I am very appreciative to Horizon Hobby for this incredible customer
service. I'll definitely be doing business with them in the future.
