Stick the activator in the refrigerator after opening...It works...I have
some over a year old after opening and just used it about 6 weeks ago.

One note...Let it warm up to room temp before you use it!

Also the DCX61 is available in smaller amounts...Pints instead of Quarts...I
could never get the DU hardeners in Quarts...Plus the mix ratio is much less
so its more critical...The DU's were dummy proof IF you mess up the ratios
on the DCX61 it will not cure right....There is some swag...but when its
mixed at like a 4:1 instead of the old 2:1 it becomes more critical...I
think these are the current mix ratios....Also I have played with reducers
to adjust cure times too.....I'm not a paint expert but have learned a ton
in the last couple years...Now If I could just get a good clear job I would
be thrilled....

I'm using DCC (concept for the white and then DBC (base coat for the colors)
on top of it and it works really well. Light too...My latest was a CA models
Eclipse and I used less than 4ozs total primer, filler, Lettering under the
clear, and clear. This is pretty good....And I think I can do it
lighter...But my clear jobs are not up the shape I would like.

Trying to use the 2020 which I'm out of now...So its 2021 or the 2042....My
problem has been dry spots where the paint is drying too quick...I think I
just need to lay it out and use more paint but worried about runs and
sags...

Suggestions on which clear to use? 2021(high Solids similar to the 2020) or
the 2042 Speed Clear?

Next question speaking of paint...Anyone try using some lacquer based paints
like the Plastic model stuff (testors or Pactra) for highlight colors like a
silver fade or small stripe and then using the Concept clear over the top of
it?

I'm trying to get Fancy with the cheese wiz and adding some effects to my
Flashdance for A.A stuff....Need to figure out without buying little qty's
of the Concept...If I had 4ozs it would last a life time in the amounts I'm
looking at....I know Tony sells 4oz at a time for limited amounts...but 4ozs
would be a 380 airplanes using the qty's I'm talking about in my airbrush.

Thanks for the advice from the Paint experts.

Troy
