Jason,
Great answers to some tough questions and comments... Good for you! I, for
one, am very pleased you stuck your neck out and allowed a lot of people to
take whacks at it.
Just goes to show that you're a mensch.
Derek

Subject: Worlds e-mail answers....LONG
Hi all,
After the Worlds I came home to over 150 e-mails with something in regards
to me flying an electric at the Worlds. I saved all the ones that had some
sort of question, or something I felt I needed to comment on, that was
directed towards me.
Here are my answers/thoughts.. > CLIPPPED BY DEL R. <

Derek.
Thanks very MUCH for sharing and Jason thank you for taking the time to
address all the thoughts that your choices stirred. Besides all the obvious
I see two subtle issues that your replies hit that do show that UGLY
PERCEPTION is still raising its head. I suspect it always will be as we are
human. Is a shame that how you dress and act are also factors on how one
scores. I remember when pilots used to call out their maneuvers and those
that were timid never seemed to receive the scores their plane flew. Was it
club judges or lack of confidence of the pilot? The 2nd issues shows how FAI
thinking and judging are so different from AMA and always will be as long as
AMA rules are different. Switching to a purely FAI style for the pattern
community will again hurt participation and attendance in the states. I
would hate to see another nail put in that coffin.
Jason. Congrats. on sticking with your convictions and doing well for
the U.S.
