It is an outstanding sample.

How many AMA polls--even elections--garner that much
participation?

People who expect the majority of any group to enjoy
politics have an unrealistic view of reality. That
they may enjoy positions of power and prestige in the
AMA does not make them infallible in their judgments.

One hobby is building and flying contest airplanes.

It is a different hobby to make rules for the contests.

We can't have this hobby without the rules.

We don't need 100% participation to make useable
rules.

To do that, you will have to change human nature.
An unnamed principle that I've heard and believe
is that in most organizations, ten percent of
the people do ninety percent of the work. It's
a plus or minus kind of thing, but I would say
it seems to me to be true.

I am a far better typist than I am a pattern pilot.
I did my first vacuum bagging this week and am
going to hinge the ailerons now. It's not a
pattern plane, but it's teaching me what I need
to know to build one. ;o)
