As Eric explained, it's a mixing function
on airplanes that have independent aileron
servos.
Flip a switch, and both ailerons are pulled
up, causing a different shape in the airfoil
and different performance.
Bob had some elevator mixed in. On some radios,
you can have the "landing mode" negated by
raising the throttle above a point that
you set--it makes it easier to abort the
landing if need be.
