Yes and no.

The pictures can be made quite excellent for
screen presentation.  If they are not digital
to begin with, they should be scanned at hi
res to produce the master .pdf file.

On printout, photo quality depends on the graphics
quality of the printer.  Good printers will yield
good photo printouts.

Look at any of the K-Factors to see the kind of
quality that you can get with text and photos.
The color is gorgeous and may be even better
in some respects than a black & white printout.
