Radio experience survey

Another hobby of mine is Shortwave Listening and Scanning, mostly Military
type communications.

Today has been very bad radio wise. US Coast Guard comms are nearly
dead. CAMSLANT Chesapeake (located near Virginia Beach) is having next to
impossible times communicating with USCG Helos and C-130s who normally
patrol the Gulf and Atlantic coast lines of Florida. Here in Daytona I
can hear both Chesapeake as well as the aircraft. However the two stations
can't hear each other.....

When these solar storms act up it can make ALL forms of communication
difficult.

I wouldn't worry too much about R/C however. The reason is that you're
receiver and transmitter is very close to each other. Most comms you're
hearing about having problems are comms between stations separated by many
miles to 1,000's of miles.
