I suggest that you use two supports for the exhaust system. If you only
mount the pipe in one place, within 25 flights the shaking of the engine on
a Hyde mount will loosen up the o-ring fit. Currently, I have 1 pipe mount
at the aft end of the pipe, and one mount at the neck of the pipe. This
leaves the silicone coupler and o-rings to keep the header in place and
handle the shaking of the engine. Or, I guess you could mount the pipe in
the back, and make a mount for the header. Up to you. The cooling fins on
the back of the 170 do not allow for fit of an OS/ MACS header, unless you
either modify the header flange, engines cooling fins, or have a short (1/4"
or so) adapter.

If your still talking about the green A/C o-rings you can get those at most
automotive stores off the shelf. They usually come in a multi-size pack.
Jim... do you mean you need to support the pipe at the front and back? I
usually just use one Dave Brown hush mount just past the center of my pipe.
No support on the front end. But I am useing a solid header on the OS. But
I plan on using the o-ring header that came with my Mintor 1.70.

I take my old o ring with me and match it up with what they have in their
cubby drawer with "O-rings".

Hi All,
Does anyone have a part number or size that I can use to go to the hardware
store and get some more of the rubber o-rings for the headers?
I've found that if you don't support the pipe and header, they wear out
fast!
Thanks,
Jim W.
