Maybe we should be calling him Papa pattern.? I don't think he qualifies for Grandpa pattern? (VBG) I'm told one needs some snow on the roof top to get that distinguished title. Meant as a total and complementary credit to Dean.
The real "Papa Pattern" is Charlie Reed. Charlie is about 77 years old and still competes. I started flying Pattern in 1967 and that's a while ago, but Charlie is about 10 years older than me. BTW, I just 'know' that Jerry Budd will pop in here with a whippersnapper comment about now. He also knows that if he's too outrageous I will challenge him to a 10K race.

Boy, Dean,
You know more about every facet of this subject matter than all the rest of us combined!!!!!!! Aaand, what makes you intimidating is you are able to remember it all. Wheeew!
When I read most of your e-mails, I sit there staring at the text shaking my head and mumbling something like, " How the heck does he know ALL this stuff?"
Awe-stricken,
Georgie

GeraldWith 25% fuel, both my FZs would turn right at 8,000 with a 16-11. It's a beautiful flying prop, but a teeny bit noisy in the air. With stock compression, the FZ needles best on 25% so I never ran less. Expect 7,800 or so, which is right on the bottom of the RPM range the cam is designed for. Dean

Can anyone let me know what RPM's I should be getting on a 140FZ with a 16x11 APC on CoolPower 15%-20% ? or any RPM figures with this prop on your fuel of choice? Gerald Williams
