Jim

I set my high idle at 1400 and fly it, 60 flights, has not quit yet, and I pull back to idle alot during a flight. low idle is set at 1300 for landing .Has not quit on landing either, and its often at less than 1300 when I check immedietly following a landing.

Cannot tell you about an inverted 3 turn spin though, as thats not one I practice, It will be a year or two before I get there.

What it the typical launch rpm for the dual plug engines at idle? I've been gun-shy about going below 2000, fearing that maybe the engine will die at the bottom of the 3 turn inverted spin. This happened to me once last season and the result was a bad crash landing type of thing.

  Thanks,

  Jim W.

  Steve,

Be careful about idling that low. Mine would go down to 1300 but would occasionally stutter and start running backwards. Obviously not a good thing. I plan to set my idle to about 1700 which is still much lower than the 4-cycles can go.

Well, my OS is idling at 1500 constant with a single plug how much better can it get.
