Quick building question

I have used several things to cut epoxy with but the problem you get when you do this is shrinkage of the material(BTDT) and reduction of strength.  Like other have posted and I have tried this.  Use your heat gun to thin the epoxy it will wick into the material right before your eyes and helps it to set up too.
