Leaning the low end only works so much.  If the pump is pushing too much 
fuel in, the needle setting will not work throughout the range. Back off 
on the pressure.

Lee thanks for your reply, I have tried to lean the low end, and yes the 
transition seems to be great but it will idle for just a couple of seconds 
then dies, although I haven't tried to fly it that way. I'm from the old 
day and always liked to set my idle where it could set there for the 
longest of time, maybe I'm expecting to much from these big engines.
Would love to come to SC but that's a long drive, maybe can catch a ride 
with Andrew and Bob Kane this fall.
