OS 1.40 Muffler

I've got a project that I'd like to use my OS 1.40 in it (save me $250 
for an OS 1.60). But, I have no room for a tuned pipe or typical bolly 
type of muffler. Anybody ever run a 1.40 on a pitts type muffler? I 
can run the engine either inverted or at the 7:30 position. Any 
suggestions?
