  2. Unless I missed it in all of this rhetoric, no one is suggesting a rule.
  3. As a pilot, if you don't want your caller to call out the maneuvers for the judges, don't.
  4. As a caller, if you don't want to call out the maneuvers for the judges, don't.
  4. As a judge, you CANNOT require the caller to call out the maneuvers.
  5. As a CD, if a pilot/caller will not call out the maneuvers, and the judge is not comfortable with the sequence, then the CD is responsible for supplying a scribe.
  6. If the judge requests the maneuvers be called out and the pilot / caller are OK with it, no problem. 

  Please explain to me, like I'm a four year old, what the issue is.

    The big picture is that you must never lose sight of the pilot "experience" at a contest. If you make this a bad one they go away. If you lose pilots, the callers and scribes and judges don't have a job!

    Getting the caller to call out the maneuvers for the judges is interfering with the pilot caller relationship. Just swaying "it works down here" is not asking the pilot group if they like it. As pilots you are put in a situation where you object at your peril. Implied or real it's the same thing and that is bad for the sport.

    A judge was removed at the Nat's for demanding that the pilot helper call out the maneuvers. 

    I'd love to see how we would handle a Spanish or French speaking caller and their pilots.

    Fix the scribe problem first and stop messing up the pilot experience.

    Don't forget that a CD is a rep of the AMA and I quote, has a high level of responsibility of "properly applying the rules,maintaining fairness etc." . I think that making the callers do this would be seen as unfair. IMHO.

    There is a full blown appeal process to the AMA if you feel unfairly treated. I could see that the traffic in this area could get pretty busy.

    I  think that the NAT'S is a great place to do it because of the scribe's that we use aren't that familiar with what we're doing and the caller is, as I remember right last year Kirk Gray had a real bad problem with a scribe, I'm not judging the person involved, it would be really bad for a pilot to get penalized for the action of a scribe that's not on top of things, especially, at the NAT'S.
