Caller/helper was Wrong Maneuver issues

I view the caller/assistant as being there for my (the pilot's) benefit, not the judges. Normally, if things are going right, it is an easy cadence of call the manuever, do the manuever, call, do, etc. But, I will sometimes ask a question or opinion. Move in or out? Where is the other guy? Was that 2/4? The guy landing sounds close! Slab O' Cow for dinner?
While I would not mind the caller calling out the manuevers loud enough for the judges, I think the judges should be ready for plan B if the pilot needs the caller or objects entirely.
