The reason the NSRCA isn't attracting new blood is because they aren't
trying to attract new blood but instead are attempting to convert (or bring
in) IMAC'ers to pattern. It ain't going to work.

I'm all for attracting TRUE new blood. It would benefit the NSRCA and the
pattern sport a lot more if we actually attracted new blood. New blood
would be a person just graduating the ranks of flying a 4 channel trainer
and ready to move into a 4 or 5 channel plane capable of the Intermediate
maneuvers. This is a person who has yet formed a bias towards Pylon,
Scale, IMAC, Giant Scale, or Gliders. His mind isn’t yet set so these are
the easiest people to show something new to and have them enjoy. Your
best new customer to the NSRCA is a new modeler how has yet to find his
niche in model aviation.

All this talk about combining NSRCA and IMAC sounds more like just trying
to get a pilot who has already found his niche (that being IMAC) and trying
to get him to cross over to Pattern or at the very least compete in both.

What’s wrong with going after new blood, the blood of a model who has yet
to find (or even be exposed) to a special interest group? That’s where I
don’t see any progress but yet where I see the most potential
